Thermal transport and high-temperature thermoelectric performance of normal and inverse ZnGa2O4 spinel structures

Understanding high-temperature thermal transport in wide-band-gap oxides is essential for designing next-generation thermoelectric and thermal management systems. In this work, the thermal transport behavior and high-temperature thermoelectric performance of normal and inverse spinel ZnGa2O4 are systematically investigated using first-principles calculations combined with semi classical Boltzmann transport theory. Structural optimization was performed within the GGA-PBE framework, while electronic properties were evaluated using the modified Becke–Johnson potential to ensure reliable band-gap estimation. Special emphasis is placed on phonon-mediated heat conduction, lattice thermal conductivity, Debye temperature, and temperature-dependent transport coefficients in the range 300–1000 K, corresponding to practical industrial operating conditions. Phonon dispersion analysis confirms dynamical stability and reveals distinct vibrational features governing lattice heat transport. The inverse configuration exhibits reduced lattice thermal conductivity due to modified phonon dispersion and enhanced phonon scattering pathways induced by cation redistribution. Thermoelectric analysis indicates that cation inversion enhances electrical conductivity at elevated temperatures while maintaining moderate Seebeck coefficients, resulting in improved figure of merit (ZT) above 600 K. The combined reduction in lattice thermal conductivity and enhancement in carrier transport suggests that controlled cation engineering can be an effective strategy for optimizing ZnGa₂O₄-based materials for high-temperature waste heat recovery and thermal energy conversion systems.

Finding meaning amid the rubble: a moderated mediation model of religious coping, meaning in life, and life satisfaction after the earthquakes in Türkiye

This study aims to examine the effects of positive religious coping (PRC) on meaning in life (ML) and life satisfaction (LS) in the aftermath of the February 6 earthquakes in Türkiye, widely regarded as the disaster of the century. Furthermore, the study, conducted with 307 individuals affected by the earthquakes, explores the indirect effects of prior trauma and self-reported religiosity (SR) on these relationships; the sample size was determined through G*Power analyses to ensure adequate statistical power. Findings from this cross-sectional study indicate that prior trauma, such as an accident, natural disaster, or loss of a loved one, weakens the direct relationship between PRC and LS, suggesting that individuals with significant trauma histories may experience diminished psychological benefits from religious coping strategies. Using a moderated mediation model, findings revealed that ML serves as a crucial mediator, reinforcing the link between PRC and LS. This finding indicates that individuals who utilize PRC strategies tend to find greater meaning in life, which in turn enhances their overall life satisfaction. However, the strength of this mediation relationship is moderated by SR. The indirect effect of PRC on LS through ML is significantly stronger, with individuals reporting higher levels of religiosity. As levels of perceived religiosity increase, individuals appear more capable of deriving meaning from adversity through religious coping mechanisms, leading to improved psychological outcomes. These findings highlight the complex interplay between trauma, religious coping, and quality of life, providing implications for mental health interventions aimed at enhancing well-being in post-disaster contexts.

Development of digital transformation management scale: validity and reliability study

This study develops and validates the Digital Transformation Management Scale to assess teachers’ perceptions of digital transformation in education. Findings reveal a three-factor structure with high reliability. The scale provides a valid tool for evaluating digital transformation management and supporting evidence-based practices.

Parental anxiety levels before and after pediatric cardiology evaluation with echocardiography in asymptomatic children with heart murmurs: a prospective study

Background – Cardiac murmurs are common in childhood, yet their detection often triggers significant parental anxiety. This study aimed to measure anxiety levels in parents of infants and young children under 24 months of age referred to pediatric cardiology due to heart murmurs, using the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI-S) before and after examination, and to investigate the impact of expert assessment and echocardiography (ECHO). Methods – This prospective study included parents of 241 asymptomatic children (under 24 months) referred for initial cardiac evaluation due to a murmur. Parental anxiety was measured using the STAI-S before and after a comprehensive clinical evaluation, including ECHO. Participants were categorized based on ECHO findings: normal, benign physiological findings, and minor structural anomalies requiring follow-up. Results – The mean pre-consultation STAI-S was 51.17 ± 6.34, which significantly decreased to 45.89 ± 7.84 following evaluation [t (240) = 10.44, p < 0.001, Cohen's d = 0.67]. While anxiety levels dropped significantly across all ECHO groups (p < 0.001), no statistical difference was found between groups regarding anxiety reduction (p = 0.108). Exploratory item analysis revealed that consultation primarily reduced negative emotions rather than immediately increasing positive emotional states. Regression analysis showed that a family history of heart disease was the only significant independent predictor increasing pre-examination anxiety (β = 2.129; p = 0.031). Conclusions – Specialized pediatric cardiology consultation and echocardiographic evaluation substantially reduce parental anxiety, independent of socioeconomic characteristics or specific cardiac findings in this cohort. Clinicians should prioritize early, tailored communication for high-risk families with a family history of heart disease to effectively manage the psychological burden of a heart murmur referral.

The marchenko method for soliton solutions to the sawada–kotera equation

Associated with the third-order linear differential operator, we present the Marchenko integral equation using as input the bound-state poles of a transmission coefficient and the time-evolved bound-state dependency constants. We derive the (Formula presented.) -soliton solution to the Sawada–Kotera equation, for an arbitrary positive integer (Formula presented.), by recovering that soliton solution from the solution to our Marchenko integral equation. Our method explains the origin of the (Formula presented.) real parameters appearing in the (Formula presented.) -soliton solution formula obtained by the ad-hoc method of Hirota. We show that (Formula presented.) of those parameters are related to the (Formula presented.) bound-state poles of the left transmission coefficient and the remaining (Formula presented.) parameters are related to the bound-state dependency constants. Our Marchenko integral equation corresponds to the “GLM (Gel'fand–Levitan–Marchenko) integral equation” Kaup relentlessly but unsuccessfully tried to obtain.
