Türkiye'de İşsizlik ve İşgücüne Katılım İlişkisinin Doğrusal ve Doğrusal Olmayan Koentegrasyon Yöntemleri ile Analizi

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, işgücüne katılım oranı ile işsizlik oranı arasındaki uzun dönem ilişki Türkiye genelinin yanı sıra cinsiyet ve yerleşim yeri ayırımına göre farklı alt grupları için doğrusal ve doğrusal olmayan üstel yumuşak geçişli koentegrasyon teknikleri ile incelenmiştir. Çalışmada Ocak 2005 – Eylül 2013 dönemine ait aylık veri kullanılmıştır. Kullanılan koentegrasyon tekniği bulguları genel ve alt gruplar için işgücüne katılım oranı ile işsizlik oranı arasında herhangi bir uzun dönem ilişkinin olmadığını gösterir. Bu sonuçlar Türkiye için işsizlik değişmezliği hipotezini desteklemektedir. Bunun yanı sıra, bulgular umudu kırılmış işsizler etkisini destekler nitelikte değildir.

This article examines the long-run relationship between labor f orce participation rate and unemployment rate in Turkey. Econometrical analyses are based on linear and nonlinear exponential smooth transition co-integration tests and monthly data f or the period f rom January 2005 to September 2013. Co-integration analysis is run f or Turkey in general and f or the gender and place of residence sub-groups. Test f indings show that there is not a long-run relationship between the two variables f or all worker groups. This result empirically supports the unemployment invariance hypothesis. Furthermore, f indings do not provide any support f or discouraged-worker eff ect in Turkey.
