Çayırbağı-Çalköy (Düzköy-Trabzon) yöresindeki Şahinkaya üyesinin stratigrafik, mikropaleontolojik ve sedimantolojik incelenmesi

Abstract

Bu tez çalışması ile yörede bulunan neritik karbonatların yayılım, kalınlık, kayaç türü, çökel yapı-doku ilişkileri, mikro karakteristikleri, fosil içerikleri ile biyostratigrafik verilerini ortaya koymak amacıyla yöreden üç adet birimi yansıtacak şekilde ölçülü stratigrafik kesit alınmıştır. Kampaniyen zamanında gelişen havza koşullarındaki pelajik çökeller Tonya Formasyonu'na ait ilk çökeller olarak taban kısmında yer almaktadır. Bu birim üzerine bölgede sınırlı alanlarda yüzeyleyen neritik çökellerden oluşan ve üye mertebesinde ayrılmış olan Şahinkaya Üyesi gelmektedir. Üye tabandan başlayarak; kalın tabakalı, kumlu, litoklastlı ve biyoklastlı bileşenlerden oluşmaktadır. Üyenin mikrofasiyes tipleri; tanetaşı-moloztaşı ve istiftaşı-vaketaşı olarak belirlenmiştir. Üye içerisinde; SB kesitinde 33 cinse ait 23 tür bentonik ile 7 cinse ait 5 tür planktonik foraminifer ve SK kesitinde 31 cinse ait 25 tür bentonik ile 15 cins e ait 8 tür planktonik foraminifer tanımlanmıştır. İlk kez dasit-riyodasit çakıllı, 3 m kalınlıklı ve matriks destekli oligomikt konglomera seviyesi tanımlanmıştır. Konglomeraların oluşumu ve pelajik formların varlığı hem deniz seviyesi hem de bölgesel tektonizmanın etkisine bağlı olarak yorumlanmıştır. Fosillerin yapısındaki kırıklar ile yuvarlaklaşma; sığ kaynak alandan taşınma süreçleri geçirerek, yamaç-yamaç önü bir ortamda çökeldiğine işaret etmektedir. Üyenin yaşı, Orbitoides gruenbachensis türünün stratigrafik konumlarından dolayı geç Maastrihtiyen olarak verilmiştir. In this thesis study, measured stratigraphic section reflecting three units was taken in order to reveal the distribution, thickness, rock type, sedimentary structure-texture relations, and micro characteristics of neritic carbonates along with their biostratigraphic data including fossil contents. Pelagic sediments that developed under the basin conditions at the time of the Campanian are located at the bottom as the first sediments belonging to Tonya Formation. The Şahinkaya Member is separated on the member level of the neritic deposits which are seen in the limited areas of the region. Starting from the member base; it consists of thick-bedded, sandy, lithoclastic and bioclastic components. Microfacies types of member have been identified as grainstone-rudstone and packstone-wackestone. Within the member; 33 genera belonging to 23 benthonic species, 7 genera belonging to 5 planktonic foraminifera species in the SB section, and 31 genera belonging to 25 benthonic species, 15 genera belonging to 8 planktonic foraminifera species in the SK section have been identified. Matrix-supported oligomict type conglomerate with dacite-rhyodacites gravel and 3 m thickness have been identified for the first time. The formation of conglomerates and the presence of pelagic forms are discussed in terms of both sea level and the effect of regional tectonism. The rounding and the fractures in the structure of fossils indicate that fossils are deposited to a slope in front of the slope by passing through a shallow source area. The age of the member was given as late Maastrichtian due to the stratigraphic position of Orbitoides gruenbachensis.
