Abstract

Black adherent P3MT film was potentiodynamically deposited on Pt electrode in dichloromethane solvent containing 0.5 M 3-methylthiophene and 0.1 M tetrabutylammonium perchlorate. P3MT-coated platinum electrode was used for sensitive tyramine analysis by DPV in sulfate buffer solution of pH 2.0. the catalytic influence of the conductive polymer on tyramine electroactivity was explore by CV, DPV and UV-vis techniques. the electrochemical oxidation reaction of tyramine at P3MT film takes place via two electrons and one proton removal. Electrochemically formed radical cations oligomerize chemically at the film-solution interface and diffuse into the bulk solution. Thus, the surface of the film is kept clean against the electrode passivation. Under optimized conditions, the anodic peak current response of modified electrode increased linearly with tyramine concentration in the range of 4.40 x 10(-6) -14.0 x 10(-3)M with 1.32 x 10(-6) M detection limit. the developed method was applied to determine tyramine content in moldy cheese. Recovery results were in the range of 99.1-101.7%.
