Abstract

The post-Kemalist transformation of Turkey was shown to have emerged thanks to the novel emancipatory and atavist discourses in the country that have given previously deprived groups adequate room in the economic and sociopolitical spheres. This was followed by the weakening of Kemalist tutelage and the removal of the obstructions towards the use of ethnocultural rights, which eventually increased the post-national qualities of the country. Therefore, hypothetically at least, the emergences of post-Kemalist practices and the norms guiding them have been prompted by the same processes. At this point, several questions arise regarding the presence of post-Kemalist norms. In this sense, while post-Kemalist practices are indisputably present, as shown in Chapter 3, one still needs to be certain about the presence of post-Kemalist norms and the question remains, how can this be done?
