Duygusal Zekanın Profesyonelleşme Üzerine Etkisi: Muhasebe Meslek Mensupları Üzerine Bir Araştırma

Abstract

Bir mesleği tüm yönleriyle mükemmel şekilde icra etme olarak nitelenen profesyonellik, kaliteli hizmet için önemli bir unsurdur. Dolayısıyla profesyonelliğe uygun tutum ve davranışlara sahip olarak ve onları sürdürerek profesyonelleşmeyi artırmak gerekmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, duygusal zekanın profesyonelleşme üzerine etkisini incelemektir. Bu amaca yönelik olarak Rize ilindeki muhasebe bürolarında çalışan 90 muhasebe meslek mensubundan elde edilen veriler yapısal eşitlik modellemesi SmartPLS 3.0 istatistiksel veri analiz programı kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma sonuçları; duygusal zekanın öz farkındalık boyutunun profesyonelliğin etik kodlar, kişisel üstünlük ve yakından denetim; özyönetim boyutunun ise profesyonelliğin bilgi tabanı, görev bağımsızlığı, kişisel üstünlük ve toplumsal önem boyutları üzerinde pozitif ve anlamlı bir etkiye sahip olduğunu ortaya koymaktadır. Bu çalışmanın sonucunda, duygusal zekanın kişisel yetenek boyutu, profesyonelleşmeyi güçlendiren önemli bir kaynak olarak ortaya çıkmıştır.

Professionalism, which is described as performing a profession perfectly with all its aspects, is an important element for service quality. Therefore, it is necessary to increase professionalism by having and maintaining attitudes and behaviors in accordance with professionalism. The objective of this paper is to examine the effect of emotional intelligence on professionalism. For this aim, the data collected from 90 accountants working in the accounting departments in Rize was analyzed using the SmartPLS 3.0 structural equation modeling methods. Research results reveal that self-awareness dimension of emotional intelligence has a positive and significant effect on ethical codes, own superiority, and closeness supervision dimensions of professionalism; self-management dimension of emotional intelligence has a positive and significant effect on knowledge base, task independence, own superiority, and societal impact dimensions of professionalism. As a result of this study, personal ability dimension of emotional intelligence has emerged as an important resource that fosters professionalism
