Türkiye tekstil sektöründe etkinlik ölçümü : iki sınırlı VZA uygulaması

Abstract

The way to survive and compete in the intense competition environment in the world textile sector is to use production factors rationally and efficiently. Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) is one of the most widely used methods in the literature to measure the efficiency performance of enterprises. Classical DEA models evaluate the efficiency of organizations only from an optimistic point of view. In this study, the efficiency of 12 textile firms listed among ISO500 firms announced by Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ISO) was measured by using DEA with double frontiers, which calculates two efficiency scores as optimistic and pessimistic for each decision unit. Besides, an overall performance metric which calculates an integrated efficiency score for decision units via combining mentioned two types of efficiency scores. It is hoped that this study will contribute to the literature as there are few applications with this DEA model.

Dünya tekstil sektöründe yaşanan yoğun rekabet ortamında ayakta kalmanın ve rekabet edebilmenin yolu üretim faktörlerini rasyonel ve etkin kullanmaktan geçmektedir. İşletmelerin etkinlik performansını ölçmek amacıyla literatürde en çok kullanılan yöntemlerden biri de Veri Zarflama Analizi (VZA)’dır. Klasik VZA modelleri organizasyonların etkinliğini sadece iyimser bakış açısından değerlendirmektedir. Bu çalışmada her bir karar birimi için iyimser ve kötümser şeklinde iki etkinlik skoru hesaplayan iki sınırlı VZA modeli (DEA with double frontiers) kullanılarak İstanbul Sanayi Odası (İSO) tarafından açıklanan ISO500 firmaları arasında yer alan 12 adet Tekstil firmasının etkinliği ölçülmüştür. Araştırmada ayrıca bahse konu iki tür etkinlik skorunu birleştirerek karar birimleri için bütünleşik bir etkinlik skoru hesaplayan bir toplam performans metriği kullanılmıştır. Söz konusu VZA modeliyle yapılan uygulama sayısının az olması nedeniyle bu çalışmanın literatüre katkı sağlayacağı düşünülmektedir.
