Tıp fakültesi ve hemşirelik fakültesi son sınıf öğrencilerinin meslek yaşamlarının geleceğine ilişkin görüşleri: Bir karşılaştırmalı araştırma

Abstract

Bu çalışma tıp ve hemşirelik fakültesi son sınıf öğrencilerinin mesleklerine ilişkin mevcut ve ileriye yönelik görüşlerini saptamak amacıyla planlanmıştır. Araştırma, nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden olgubilim (fenomenolojik) araştırma desenine uygun olarak yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu, ülkemizin Ege Bölgesi’ndeki bir üniversitenin tıp ve hemşirelik fakültesi son sınıf öğrencileri içerisinden çalışmaya gönüllü 10 öğrenciden oluşmuştur. Veri toplama aracı olarak araştırmacılar tarafından hazırlanan yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kullanılmıştır. Görüşmeden elde edilen veriler “mesleki yaşantıdan beklentiler” ve “mesleğin gelecek on yıldaki durumu” olmak üzere iki tema altında toplanmıştır. “Mesleki yaşantılarından beklentiler” ana temasının alt temaları olarak “profesyonellik”, “maddi beklentiler”, “manevi beklentiler” olmak üzere üç alt tema oluşturulmuştur. Mesleğin gelecek on yıldaki durumu ana temasının altında ise “değer görme”, “otonomi”, “sağlıkta şiddet”, “hasta hakları”, “hasta özerkliği”, “tıp hukuku” olmak üzere altı alt tema oluşturulmuştur. Çalışmaya katılan Hemşirelik Fakültesi 4. sınıf ve Tıp Fakültesi 6. sınıf öğrencilerinin mesleğe adım atmaya yaklaştıkları bir dönemde mesleği profesyonel anlamda sürdürme konusunda kaygılı oldukları saptanmıştır. Bu doğrultuda öğrencilerin mesleğe hazır bulunuşluğu, gelecek kaygısı ve profesyonel iş yaşantısı gibi konuların vurgulanması danışman öğretim üyelerinin, sağlık hizmetleri yöneticilerinin ve politika belirleyicilerin iç görüsü bakımından konunun farklı boyutlarıyla ele alındığı çalışmalar bilimsel literatüre kazandırılmalıdır.

This study was planned to determine the current and prospective views of the senior medical and nursing faculty students about their profession. The research was carried out in accordance with the phenomenological research design, which is one of the qualitative research methods. The study group of the research consisted of 10 students who volunteered to work among the senior students of the faculty of medicine and nursing of a university in the Aegean Region of our country. A semi-structured interview form prepared by the researchers was used as a data collection tool. The data obtained from the interview were collected under two themes: "expectations from professional life" and "the situation of the profession in the next ten years". Three sub-themes were formed as “professionalism”, “material expectations” and “spiritual expectations” as sub-themes of the main theme of “expectations from their professional life”. Under the main theme of the state of the profession in the next ten years, six sub-themes were formed: “appreciation”, “autonomy”, “violence in health”, “patient rights”, “patient autonomy” and “medical law”. It was determined that the 4th grade students of the Faculty of Nursing and 6th grade students of the Faculty of Medicine, who participated in the study, were anxious about continuing the profession professionally at a time when they were so close to stepping into the profession. In this direction, the studies in which the subject is handled with different dimensions should be brought to the scientific literature in terms of emphasizing the subjects such as students' readiness for the profession, future anxiety and professional business life, and awareness of advisor faculty members, health care managers and policy makers.
