Glory Plus : Course Book for Undergraduate Programs

Abstract

Preface English is a must course in the first year of all undergraduate programs at Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University. The instructional model of this course is to equip students with the basic and essential knowledge of a foreign language, English. ‘Glory Plus’ has been prepared by a group of academic staff of our university. This book is based on European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) in terms of the themes, skills, language input and self-evaluation. As in other course books in the 21st century’s modern world, ‘Glory Plus’ is built upon Communicative Approach and aims to develop students’ basic language skills; listening, speaking, reading and writing. As students are intended to learn how to reflect their own culture, different cultural elements are also included in the units.
