Primary leiomyoma of the ovary: Case report [Overin primer leiomiyomu]
Özet
Leiomyoma is a benign tumor of smooth muscle. Primary leiomyoma of the ovary is a extremely rare tumor of the ovary. We present a case of ovarian leiomyoma at the left ovary of 44-years-old a premenauposal woman was performed on unilateral salpingo-oophorectomy. Macros-copically, a tumor mass which is 8x6x4 cm in size was recognised in the ovary. Histopathologic examination, the tumor composed of interlacing bundles of fusiform cells. Immunohistochemi -cally, smooth muscle actin and desmin cytoplasmic positive, as well as estrogen and progesteron hormones nuclear positive. This case was revealed as leiomyoma with these findings. We present a case that diagnosed as primary leiomyoma of the ovary because of rarity and giant size, with it's differential diagnosis and immunohistochemical findings.
