Epidermoid cysts that occur in the neck are benign and rare. When they occur, they are usually located on the midline and under or over the mylohyoid muscle. The patient was a 22 year old male who had, at the time of admission, a progressively growing painless swelling under his chin for the previous ten years. The growth was 9x6x4 cm in size. The treatment of the cysts involves total surgical excision. Recurrence is not expected after total excision. The surgical method of choice is determined by the cyst’s relation to the musculature lining the lower part of the mouth. In this region cysts, epidermoid cyst histopathologically but also very often referred to as dermoid cyst. © 2015, Anatolian Journal of Clinical Investigation. All rights reserved.en_US
