Sosyal bilgiler dersinde tahmin, gözlem, açıklama (TGA) yönteminin kullanımı: örnek etkinlikler

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın temel amacı TGA yönteminin sosyal bilgiler dersinde kullanılabilirliğini ortaya koymak için; TGA yönteminin ve yönteme göre hazırlanan etkinlik örneklerinin sosyal bilgiler ve sınıf öğretmenlerine tanıtılmasıdır. Yapılan taraması sonucunda TGA (Tahmin, gözlem, açıklama) yönteminin sosyal bilimlere ait derslerde kullanımına ilişkin alanyazında önemli bir boşluk olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca alanyazın incelendiğinde gözlem yapılamayan durumlarda TGA yönteminin nasıl kullanılabileceğine ait önerilere de rastlanmaktadır. Bu öneriler temelinde çalışmada etkinlikler geliştirilmiştir. Bu bağlamda çalışmada veri toplama aracı olarak nitel araştırma tekniklerinden olan doküman incelesi yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Etkinliklerin geliştirilmesi aşamasında 2018 Sosyal Bilgiler Dersi Öğretim Programında yer alan kazanımlar dikkate alınmıştır. Ayrıca etkinlikler ile ilgili uzman görüşlerine başvurulmuş ve ilgili sınıflarda pilot uygulama yapılmıştır. Sonuç olarak geliştirilen etkinlik örnekleri ile TGA yönteminin sosyal bilgiler dersine ait kazanımların kazandırılması sürecinde kullanılabilir olduğu görülmüştür.

The study aims to introduce the POE method and present some exemplary social studies activities prepared according to the POE method for classroom teachers, demonstrating the usefulness of this method. There is a significant gap regarding the use of the POE method in social studies courses. Also, review of the literature reveals that there are suggestions on how to use the POE method in cases where observations cannot be conducted. The activities in this study were developed based on these suggestions. Document review was used as the data collection tool. In the process of the development of the activities, the learning outcomes in the 2018 social studies curriculum were taken into consideration. In addition, expert opinions were obtained and pilot schemes were performed. It was found that the POE method can be successfully used in helping students achieve the learning outcomes of social studies courses.
