Cenevre’de müslümanlar i̇çin bir okul açma teşebbüsü: Medrese- i şarkiyye ve eğitim programı

Abstract

Eğitim tarihimize bakıldığında Türkiye'de açılan yabancı okullara ilişkin çeşitli çalışmalar yapılmış iken yurt dışında Müslüman Türklerin açtıkları ya da açmaya teşebbüs ettikleri okullarla ilgili çalışmaların oldukça sınırlı olduğu görülür. Bu çalışmada Ahmet Kâmi Bey'in İsviçre'nin Cenevre şehrinde açmaya teşebbüs ettiği Medrese-i Şarkiyye adlı okul hakkında, okula ilişkin hazırlanan program üzerinden bilgi verilmiştir. Hazırlanan programda açılmak istenen okulun amacı, kayıt şartları, verilecek dersler, ücretler, günlük ve yıllık program gibi konularda detaylı bilgi verilmiştir. Programa bakıldığında, okulun hazırlık okulu mahiyetinde olduğu ve daha ziyade yurt işlevi göreceği; dil eğitiminin yanı sıra öğrencilere gitmek istedikleri fakülte programlarına yönelik seçmeli derslerin öğretileceği anlaşılmaktadır. Programı elimizde olsa da bahsi geçen okulun açılıp açılmadığına ilişkin bilgiye ise ulaşılamamıştır

There are various studies on the schools which are opened by foreign or non- Muslims in our educational history. However, studies on schools that opened by Muslim Turks in Europe or other non- Muslim regions are very limited. In addition there are no studies on attempts to open schools by Muslims in abroad. The subject of this study is the Medrese-i Şarkiyye, which is Ahmet Kâmi Bey’s attempt to open a school in Geneva. This study contains information about school’s program, which contains detailed information on the topics such as the purpose of the school, registration requirements, lessons, fees and daily and annual schedule. It is understood that the school is considered as a preparatory school and the dormitory function has come to the forefront when the program examined. Although the program is available, it is not possible to reach the information on whether the school opened or not
