Sosyal Bilgiler Öğretiminde Sözlü Ve Yerel Tarih Uygulamalarının Öğrencilerde Farkındalık Oluşmasına Etkisi

Abstract

Sosyal Bilgilerde tarihi konularının öğretiminde sözlü ve yerel tarih uygulamalarının önemi büyüktür. Bu uygulamalar sayesinde öğrenci geçmiş ve gelecek arasında bağ kurup, kendini tarih içerisinde hissedip, yaparak yaşayarak öğrenebilecektir. Öğretim programı sosyal bilgiler dersi amaçları arasında direkt bu kavramlar yer almasa da bu kavramları çağrıştıran ifadelere yer verilmiştir. Kültürel mirasın korunması, milli bilinç, mekânı algılama, insan çevre etkileşimi, tarihsel kalıntı ve değişim ile sürekliliği algılama gibi ifadeler sözlü ve yerel tarihi çağrıştıran ifadelerdir. Bu bağlamda sosyal bilgiler öğretiminde kültür ve miras öğrenme alanında yer alan sözlü ve yerel tarih uygulamalarına ilişkin öğrenci görüşleri doğrultusunda bir değerlendirme yapmak amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma nitel araştırma çerçevesinde yürütülmüştür. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 4. sınıfta öğrenim gören 13 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Veriler araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan açık uçlu dokuz sorudan oluşan yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu ile toplanmıştır. Görüşmeler ses kayıt cihazı kullanılarak kaydedilmiştir. Elde edilen veriler betimsel analiz tekniği ile çözümlenmiştir. Araştırmanın nitel sonuçlarına göre öğrencilerin genel olarak sözlü ve yerel tarih etkinliklerinin uygulamalarına ilişkin olumlu görüş belirttikleri görülmüştür.

Oral and local history practices are of great importance in teaching historical subjects in Social Studies. Through these practices, the student will be able to establish a connection between the past and the future, feel himself in history and learn by living. Even though these concepts are not directly included among the objectives of the curriculum of social studies course, expressions that evoke these concepts are included. Preservation of cultural heritage, national consciousness, perception of space, human environment interaction, historical remnants and perceptions of change and continuity are expressions that evoke oral and local history. In this context, it is aimed to make an assessment in line with the students views on oral and local history practices in the field of cultural and heritage learning in social studies teaching.The research was conducted within the framework of qualitative research. The study group of the study consists of 13 students in 4th grade. The data were collected by a semi-structured interview form consisting of nine open-ended questions prepared by the researcher. Interviews were recorded using a voice recorder. The obtained data were analyzed with descriptive analysis techniques. According to the qualitative results of the study, it was observed that students expressed positive opinions about the applications of oral and local history activities in general.
