Arşiv belgelerinin sosyal bilgiler dersinde kullanılmasına ilişkin öğretmen adayı görüşleri

Abstract

Araştırmanın amacı sosyal bilgiler dersinde arşiv belgesi kullanılması etkinliğinin öğretmen adaylarının öğrenmelerine etkisini ve sürece yönelik deneyimlerini tespit etmektir. Çalışma grubunu amaçlı örnekleme yöntemlerinden kolay ulaşılabilir durum örneklemesi ile seçilen 34 öğretmen adayı oluşturmaktadır. Nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden olgubilim (fenomenoloji) deseni ile yürütülen araştırmanın verileri yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu ve uygulama dokümanlarından elde edilmiştir. Veriler içerik analizi ve doküman inceleme ile çözümlenmiştir. Araştırma bulguları uygulanan etkinliğin katılımcıların sosyal bilgiler dersinde arşiv belgesi kullanılması konusunda öğrenmelerini olumlu etkilediğini göstermektedir. Sosyal bilgiler dersinde arşiv belgelerinin kanıt olarak kullanılmasının öğrencilere nesnel ve güvenilir bilgi sağlayarak onların bilgi üretmelerine imkân verdiği, öğrencilerin dönemin siyasi, sosyal ve kültürel özelliklerini dikkate almalarını ve objektif bir şekilde değerlendirmelerini sağladığı anlaşılmaktadır. Kavram öğrenmeyi kolaylaştırdığı, öğrencilerde birçok beceri ve değerin geliştirilmesinde etkili olduğu belirlenmektedir. Ayrıca arşiv belgelerinin sosyal bilgiler dersinde kullanılması için kazanım, beceri ve değerlere uygun belge seçilmesi, belgelerin öğrencilerin yaşına, ilgisine göre sadeleştirilip düzenlenmesi gerektiği anlaşılmaktadır

This research aimed to determine activities such as the effect of the using of archive documents in social studies course on the prospective teachers’ learning and experience related to the process. The study group consists of 34 prospective teachers selected by one of the purposeful sampling methods, easily accessible case sampling. The data of the study carried out with the phenomenology methodwere obtained through a semi-structured interview form and application documents. The data were analyzed by content analysis and document analysis. The findings of the research indicate that the activity which was applied affected the participants’ learning positively about using archive documents in social studies course. It is understood that the use of archival documents as evidence in social studies course enables students to produce knowledge by providing objective and reliable knowledge, allowing them to take into account the political, social and cultural characteristics features of the period and evaluate them objectively. It has been determined that by simplifying the concept learning it can be effective in the improvement of many skills and values on the students. In addition, it is understood that in order to use the archive documents in the social studies course it is necessary to choose appropriate documents for the acquisition, skills and values, and must be simplified and organized the documents according to the age and interest of the students.
