Artistic Politics of Kemalist Aesthetics

Abstract

This article aims to discuss Kemalism in a political-aesthetical context. Political aesthetics can be thought of as the reflection of artistic forms of representation emerging with modernism in the political field. Especially in societies that examine the process of nationalization, the political aesthetic gains its visibility through the artistic representation of the masses within the notion of the Nation that is aestheticized image of unity. in this respect, political aesthetic emerges as the frame where the modern representation regime brings art and politics together. This article will attempt to examine Kemalism, which is also a process of a nation designation, through the artistic politics of modern representation regime.
