Adventure of a Rule on Criticism of Narrator/Narration: Invalidation Whose Cause is Explained is Accepted

Abstract

Analysis of chain of transmission is largely made on the basis of relativistic criticism, which in turn has increased the importance of the Science of Invalidation and Rectification ('Ilm al-Jarh wa al-ta 'dil), and has required the evaluation of rational criticisms according to established principles. Among the principles put forward by some scholars of fiqh and hadith scholars, there is a saying that "it is necessary to explain the cause of the invalidation in order to be accepted". the aim of this study is to evaluate the process of this principle, which has been started to be discussed in the Qur'anic works of the fourth century in the Hijri 4th century, and the background of the transmission to the hadith method, in the result relation of the approach developed against the problems that such a criterion may have in the field of criticism. According to this, it has been determined that the allegations that some of the relaters in the first three centuries of the hijri were in this opinion were not related to the truth. It has been determined that the acceptance of this principle comes with Ibn al-Salah, and that the idea of pausing (al-tawaqquf), developed to solve this problem, is probably inspired by the approach to witnessing again.
