Background: There is limited and inconsistent data on the prevalence of food hypersensitivity (FH) in adult population.
Sociocultural conditions and dietary habits
may be responsible for the discordance.
Furthermore there are serious knowledge
gaps about the prevalence rates of FH in
developing countries. The aim of the study
was to determine the self-reported prevalence of FH in general adult population.
