İlköğretim 5. sınıf öğrencilerinin bilimsel bilgiye yönelik görüşlerinin ve fen bilimine yönelik tutumlarının incelenmesi

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, ilköğretim 5. sınıf öğrencilerinin bilimsel bilgiye yönelik görüşlerinin ve fen bilimine yönelik tutumlarının incelenmesidir. 2010-2011 Eğitim-Öğretim yılında yürütülen çalışmanın örneklemini, ülkemizin coğrafi bölgelerinin her birinden seçilen birer il; bu illerden seçilen üç okul ve bu okullardan seçilen birer sınıf olmak üzere toplam 21 okulda okuyan 720 5. sınıf öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Bu çalışma mevcut durumun ortaya çıkarılmasına yönelik yapılan bir çalışma olduğu için bir alan taraması çalışmasıdır.Veriler, bilimsel bilgiye yönelik görüşler ve fen bilimine yönelik tutum ölçekleriyle toplanmıştır. Veriler, SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) for Windows 17.0 programı kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Bu süreçte, tanımlayıcı istatistiksel metotlar (Sayı, Yüzde, Ortalama, Standart sapma) ile t-testi, anova analizleri ve korelasyon testi yapılmıştır.Çalışma sonucunda 5. Sınıf öğrencilerinin bilimsel bilgiye yönelik görüşleri ile fen bilimine yönelik tutumları arasında pozitif yönde bir ilişki olduğu belirlenmiştir. Bununla birlikte,öğrencilerin bilimsel bilgiye yönelik görüşleriile fen bilimine yönelik tutumlarının; yaş, akademik başarı, anne-baba çalışma ve eğitim durumları, aile aylık geliri, fen ve teknoloji dersini sevme durumu ve fen ve teknoloji ile ilgili en çok tercih edilen etkinlikler bağımsız değişkenlerinden 0.05 anlamlılık düzeyinde farklılaştığı sonucuna varılmıştır. This study aims to analyze views of primary school 5th grade students? scientific knowledge and attitudes towards the science.The sample of the study includes 720 5th grade students from total 21 schools including one province selected from each geographical region of our country; three schools selected from the said provinces and one class selected from each of those schools.This study conducted in 2010-2011 educational year. It is a field research study since it focuses on revealing current situation.Data were collected using the scales of views on scientific knowledge and attitudes towards scienceand analyzed using the software SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) for Windows 17.0. In that process, t-test anova (One-Way Analysis of Variance) analyses and correlation tests were performed with descriptive statistical methods (Number, Percent, Average, Standard Deviation).As a result of the study, it was revealed that there was a positive relationship between the 5th grade students? views on scientific knowledge and attitudes towards science.It was also found that there students? views on scientific knowledge and attitudes towards science are significant at the 0.05 level by means of age, academic success, parent working status, parent educational status, family monthly income, liking for science and technology course, the mostly preferred activities in the science and technology course.
