Abstract

Karen Armstrong'un Siyer ve İslâm Tarihine Bakışı adlı bu çalışma `Giriş' ve `Sonuç' kısmı dışında iki temel bölümden oluşmaktadır.Çalışmanın `Giriş' kısmında araştırmanın amacı, önemi, kaynakları ve oryantalizm ile ilgili çeşitli bilgilere değindik.Birinci bölümde, Karen Armstrong'un hayatı, eserleri, İslâm ve Kur'an-ı Kerîm'le ilgili görüşlerini inceledik.İkinci bölümde, Armstrong'un gözüyle, Batı'da var olan Hz. Muhammed algısını ve Hz. Peygamberin doğumundan vefatına kadar hayatının bazı süreçlerini kronolojik olarak incelemeye çalıştık. Hz. Peygamber sonrası dönemle ilgili bilgilere de bu bölümde değindik.Sonuç kısmında ise araştırma sonucunda elde ettiğimiz bir takım temel neticeleri vurguladık. The study of `Perspective of Karen Armstrong on Siyer and İslâmic History,? consist of two Fundamentals parts except the `introduction? and `conclusion? parts.We have mentioned the aim of the stady, its importance, its resources and kinds of informations about orientalism in the introduction section.In the first part, we analyzed the life of Karen Armstrong, her Works and her thoughts about Islâm and Quran.In the second part, we tried to analyze the perception of Mohammad in the West through the eyes of Armstrong, the life of Mohammad from his birth to his death chronogically. We?ve mentioned about the informations of the period after Prophet in this section.In the conclusion part we emphasized the basic results that we had at the and of the research.
