Özet
Trude Strand argues that Israel’s policies toward Gaza are not, as they are often portrayed, shapedby temporary security concerns or ad hoc responses to crises. Instead, they constitute a long-termstate strategy. Drawing on extensive archival sources, this historical analysis demonstrates howthe Strip has been deliberately segregated and governed over time, a process that has producedprofound and enduring effects on the political and social life of Palestinians. In this context, Gazais not merely a site of humanitarian crisis but an analytical lens through which Israel’s Palestinepolicy can be more fully understood.
