An error correction about problem posing on a linear graph

I am thinking that a portion of the data analysis in the study entitled “Mathematical problem posing as a measure of curricular effect on students’ learning” by Cai et al. (2013) in Educational Studies in Mathematics, vol. 83, pp. 57–69, is mathematically incorrect.
